‘In The Line of Duty 3’ stars Taiwanese action queen Cynthia Khan, the former ballerina that the D&B film company had hired to replaced the (temporarily) retired Michelle Yeoh. Michelle had been given the surname ‘Khan’ by the D&B marketing department, so Cynthia inherited it. Some early marketing materials misidentified her as Michelle’s younger sister!
The film was co-directed by Brandy Yuen, brother of famed director Yuen Woo-ping, with the action choreographed by various members of the Yuen Clan action team. The other director was famed cinematographer Arthur Wong.
The pan-Asian cast of ‘In The Line of Duty 3’ includes veteran Japanese actor Fujioka Hiroshi, powerlifting champion Michiko Nishiwaki, later ‘Mortal Kombat’ star Robin Shou and long-time Donnie Yen acolyte Stephan Berwick.
This fast-paced, action-packed thriller established a new female action lead into the world of Hong Kong cinema.
